What We Believe

The Bible

More than a book!

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. While there are many writers, there is only one author – God Himself. The Bible is our standard and helps us to live life the way God intended.

 

2 Timothy 3:16,17 – All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

 

Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

God

More than enough!

God is the Creator of all things. He is eternal and exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is good and loving, and He desires a personal and meaningful relationship with you.

 

Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

 

1 John 4:9-10 – In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Jesus

More than a fairy tale!

Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity, the Son of God. While on earth He was the expression of God in human form, born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, and then rose from the dead. He lives today and is the doorway for a relationship with the Father. There is salvation in none other.

 

Colossians 1:15 – He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

 

Acts 4:12 – Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Holy Spirit

More than natural!

The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity and dwells in the heart of the believer. He is there to lead us into truth and to empower us to live life the way God intended.

 

John 16:13 – However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

 

Ephesians 3:16 – I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.

Salvation

More than doing good!

Though created with dignity and value in the image of God, all people fall short of God’s standard because of sin. Jesus defeated sin through His death and resurrection; therefore, forgiveness of sin is available only through Him. It is when we receive Him that we obtain this forgiveness and become a child of God.

 

Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

 

Revelation 1:18 – I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

 

John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
